Stitch:
"Jeff is always pretty deep with the lyrical content. He always writes with a lot of double meanings & makes you think about what he’s saying & usually what seems like the obvious thing that he’s most likely talking about isn’t at all, it’s usually the complete opposite. He likes writing in ways where listeners can see multiple influences from it or multiple themes and subject matter & apply it to their own life. But definitely nothing negative. Nothing satanic. Nothing that says kill yourself. We’re not really that kind of band. Usually our lyrics are very positive & trying to influence people to think more than saying a bunch of swear words & talk about buying guns or something. It’s too easy to be angry."

Joe Altier (ex-Brand New Sin):
"In last week of July I get a call from my good friends in Cleveland, OH, Skinny and Waylon, from the band Mushroomhead. They call and say, "PAPA JOE, WE NEED YOU!!" Skinny and Waylon started a side project called Tenafly Viper with two other amazing musicians (Tommy from The Autumn Offering and Jim Lamarca from Chimiara). A southern sounding metal band with pure balls. They were stuck on a song and asked me to come help write and sing on it. I said I will be there Sunday morning!! So I finish playing a show with Aylyst and Dead Rose at The Lost Horizon, jump in the car with Chucky Luv and Boonville and race down the thruway to Mushroomhead HQ!! We arrive roughly about 8am and race for the few couches and sleep for a few hours before the boys show up to make some magic. I wake up to Skinny standing above me and grinning. It felt good to see his face again as when BNS toured with them we struck up a great friendship and respect for each others work. I spent many a nights on the Mushroomhead bus till the wee hours of the morning listening to tunes and just talking. So we climb into the studio and begin to listen to a song that was all done, but no vocals. They were going to leave it as an instrumental but decided it was deserving of more than that. I started to spit out some nonsense, as I do when writing, I come up with a melody with jibberish for words and then add words later from my writings. Me and Waylon came up with two lines that we had in mind and then BAM it just started flowing. We could barely keep up with each others ideas and all of a sudden within an hour we were done and tracking vocals. The song is heavy, brutal and is a call and answer. Bascially me and Waylon trading off each line as if we were in a bar fight. Old school thrash with some BALLS. We settled down for a bit I broke out a piano and sat in the studio playing for everyone and recorded some ruffs of some shit I have been working with as well as some fun covers. As we broke to get some more beer Skinny asked me to come back in and listen to another song they had just recorded that could also use my help. This song was a much slower tune with chances to have killer melodies and some Alice In Chains harmonies. Once again me and Walyon sat in the control room and started bouncing ideas off one another. And yet ONCE again an hour later we were tracking vocals. Now mind you this flow of creativity had all happened in just a short 6 hour span. Waylon's voice began to run out (since they played a Mushroomhead show the night before) and he had to get home to his wife and new born child. I couldnt stop singing, and I tracked vocals and harmonies until roughly 4am. By then I had been singing for nearly 13 hours and was getting pretty well lit and it was time to just sit back and enjoy my time with good friends. Woke up late the next morning and drove back to Syracuse. It felt so good to be writing and recording again. It had been awhile (a year and few months) since I had with BNS, and it that time so much had happen to me that my head has been a mess of thoughts that are very hard to focus at times. These guys had gotten me back on my horse so to speak and gave me the "itch" to really get going on my solo project. The songs we recorded will be on their debut CD and in a short time will be up for you ALL to hear. So stay patient, please. Trust me I am more anxious than you guys."
